Christine E. Cassidy, CPA, JD, LLM

Chris, who formed Cassidy CPA in 2000, is admitted to the California Bar and US Tax Court. She has extensive experience in litigation with the San Francisco District Attorney and Public Defense’s office and years of experience as a CPA with KPMG. Her legal background makes her uniquely qualified to provide not only tax services, but also expert advice on business restructuring and planning. She earned her BA from University of California, Berkeley, a JD from the University of San Francisco School of Law, and an LLM from New York University Graduate School of Law.

She is a member of American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA), South Carolina Association of CPAs, the State Bar of California, and the American Bar Association.

Chris, who previously lived in San Francisco and New York City, enjoys scuba diving, swimming, and rowing.

Nida Gataveckiene, CPA

Nida joined the company in 2014. Originally from Lithuania, she moved to the United States in 2008 after earning a bachelor’s degree in Multimedia Engineering. She also earned a BS with a concentration in Accounting from the University of South Carolina.
Nida is a licensed CPA in South Carolina, a licensed Enrolled Agent, and is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA).

Currently, she works with a variety of clients including individuals, pass-through entities, corporations, trusts, estates and non-profit organizations. She provides tax planning and compliance services. She has earned a Not-For-Profit Certificate from AICPA to expand her knowledge and skills in serving exempt clients. She also serves as the Tax Manager for the office.

After a busy tax season, Nida enjoys spending time outdoors, including walking on the beach and traveling back to Europe to visit her family.

Cheryl, who has been with Cassidy CPA since December 2015, began work as a CPA in the audit and tax departments of a Big Four firm in its Las Vegas, Nevada and Hartford, Connecticut offices before relocating to Hilton Head Island. Cheryl also has more than ten years of experience as the administrator of a medical practice group. She received a BA from Baylor University and has been a licensed CPA in South Carolina since 1989.

At Cassidy CPA she provides tax planning and compliance services with individuals, pass-through entities, corporations, trusts, and estates. She particularly enjoys working with medical practices.

Cheryl enjoys volunteer work and spending time with her family.

Cathy Wallner, CPA

Cathy, who joined Cassidy CPA in January 2009, brings over 25 years of experience in tax and accounting to the firm. She began her career in public accounting at Deloitte and Touche LLP in Los Angeles, California.

At Cassidy CPA, she provides tax planning and compliance services including reviews and compilations for a variety of tax and accounting clients including individuals, sole proprietors, pass through entities, corporations, and non-profit organizations. Cathy received her BA from the University of California, Santa Barbara, where she majored in business economics with an emphasis in accounting. She is a Certified Public Accountant in the state of South Carolina.

Cathy is an active member of the community and is a member of the board of directors and treasurer of Riverview Charter School, Beaufort County’s first charter school.

Amanda McBride, CPA

Amanda joined Cassidy CPA in January 2018. She received her BA in Spanish from Elon University in 2011, graduating magna cum laude, and she received her BS in Business Administration with an Accounting concentration from USCB in 2021. She is a CPA and an enrolled agent. A life-long learner, she embraces the development and deepening of her accounting skills and knowledge at Cassidy CPA.

Amanda is a devoted book lover and dog owner. When she is not in the office, she enjoys spending time reading, walking on the beach and playing with her dog, Sammy.

Anita Murphy, CPP

Anita joined Cassidy CPA in September 2018. She graduated from Southern New Hampshire University in September 2021 with an BS in Forensic Accounting. She has a combination of 16 years experience between public and private accounting. She spent the first half of her career in public accounting and most recently in the private industry of healthcare. Anita earned her CPP (certified payroll professional) in 2008 which brings significant payroll knowledge and experience to her clients. Anita is a member of the American Payroll Association (APA). Her extensive experience covers a broad range of industries and focuses on servicing her clients.

Anita plans to achieve her goal of becoming a CPA to further meet the needs of clients.

In her free time, Anita enjoys attending her son’s baseball games and her daughter’s soccer games. When not attending those sporting events, she enjoys curling up with a good book.

Judy Hoke

Judy joined Cassidy CPA in 2020 as a bookkeeper. She has over 25 years of experience in public accounting. She was most recently a Manager of Finance for a leadership training company. Judy is a Certified QuickBooks ProAdvisor. Judy loves to apply her extensive knowledge of bookkeeping and payroll to provide excellent services to her clients.

In her free time, Judy enjoys walking on the beach, fishing, gardening, and spoiling her dog.

Jaqueline Becerra

Jackie joined Cassidy CPA in August 2021 as a bookkeeper. She has an associates degree in Business from PBS College, and she is bilingual in English and Spanish. She has over 25 years of experience in public accounting with ten years spent working for Not for Profits. With her work in the Not for Profit sector, she ran QuickBooks training workshops, and assisted with audits.

In her free time, Jackie enjoys volunteering, scrapbooking, quilting and spending time with family and friends.

Pam Bellone

Pam joined Cassidy CPA in 2021. She brings over 30 years of administrative experience from many different industries in the NY Metro area. Prior to joining Cassidy, Pam spent 8 years at Siemens Corporation, as Tax Compliance Administrative Coordinator.

Pam and her husband Gary moved to Bluffton in 2020, after being part-time residents since 2015.

Pam enjoys spending time at the beach and traveling.

Ebony Sims

Coming from the great state of Ohio, Ebony Sims moved to Bluffton for a change of pace. Ebony has worked in many different industries before joining the team at Cassidy CPA. As a novice to accounting, she is eager to learn the ins and outs of the industry while supporting the team and assisting the clients throughout the tax season.

Ebony loves to travel and has plans to retire in Tulum, Mexico in her old age. In her spare time, she crochets blankets for individuals with multiple sclerosis and is working on perfecting her Spanish using Duolingo.

Barb Rosendale

Barb joined Cassidy CPA in October 2022 as the Finance Manager responsible for the firm’s internal accounting. A Maryland native, Barb has over 37 years’ experience in accounting and office management. She is excited to bring new ideas to the firm to enhance the client experience and possibly alleviate some stress to our team during the busy season.

Because of her love of water and the beach, Barb recently built a home on Hilton Head Island. She enjoys live music, riding the countless bike trails and discovering all the local restaurants. When not exploring her own backyard, Barb enjoys hosting and visiting with her children and grandchildren.
